Apply with confidence to your next promotion or permanent position.

These workshops are ideal for teachers aspiring to the level of Head Teacher, Assistant Principal, Deputy Principal and Principal.  They are also ideal for classroom teachers seeking permanency.

Tailored just for the NSW Department of Education, our workshops are a shortcut to understanding and confidence in preparing your application and interviewing for your next dream role.

At our highly interactive workshops, you will:

  1. Develop a clear understanding of the process of preparing a top quality written application with an eye-catching résumé (CV) ;

  2. Learn how to effectively present the six general criteria and understand how to maximise the impact of the all-important position criteria;

  3. Understand the key focus points of key NSW strategic policies including School Improvement Plan (SIP), School Excellence Framework (SEF), School Success Model and High Impact Professional Learning and learn how to integrate these into your criteria;

  4. Gain some excellent hints and ideas for preparing for the all-important interview, including first-hand experience at a mock-interview with a question tailored specifically for you, at the level to which you aspire; and

  5. Receive 6 hours’ NESA accreditation.

The workshops are inclusive of all levels. We cap our workshops at 15 participants to maximise interaction, encourage dialogue, and ensure that the workshops meet the specific needs of every participant, regardless of the level of promotion being sought.

Previous participants' feedback has indicated that this is a truly outstanding, user-friendly workshop. Some have travelled 100km to attend!

The workshop was straightforward and easy to follow. Most pleasing was the absence of jargon and complex, unfathomable diagrams. The interaction among participants was excellent and mock-interview terrific. The best I have been to.
— Maurice Johnston, Principal, Maroubra Public School (NSW)

Follow up support

Participants are encouraged to keep in touch by phone or email, and are most welcome to contact us with any questions relating to, for example, in which criterion to position a particular example. We can also critique your application once you commence the writing process.

What if, after doing the workshop, I’m still struggling?

This is very unusual, as 99% of participants come away with a thorough understanding of the style, language, layout and content for their CV/résumé and selection criteria. However, if you still need professional support in writing to criteria after the workshop, we can provide this service at a fee that is negotiated individually.
